Michael Pearson named general manager of the Cottage in the Wood Malvern

Michael Pearson has been appointed general manager of the Cottage in the Wood Malvern in Worcestershire.

Pearson, who was born and raised in Malvern, returns to the four-AA-star hotel having previously worked as operations manager at Tewkesbury Park.

The 1919 restaurant at the 32-room Cottage in the Wood Malvern also received three-AA-rosettes in September under head chef Rob Mason.

Pearson said: "Working at the Cottage in the Wood Malvern was always a dream of mine. It's been a place for family gatherings, which I remember from when I was growing up, and even as an adult I always dreamt about what I could bring to the hotel if I were to manage it. I am excited about the new role and working closely with the team to bring the experience to life."

Nick Davies, owner of the Cottage in the Wood Malvern, added: "With his passion for the industry and his trendsetting vision, Michael is joining our young and dynamic team and has many ideas for the hotel, bar, and restaurant. This is a great time for the Cottage in the Wood and we are looking forward to seeing what 2024 will bring with Michael at the helm."
