Luxury is the name of the game when it comes to the latest hotel openings. The world has opened up since Covid, bringing with it a taste for bigger, better hotels – many with a high price point to beat the mid-market squeeze.
From much-anticipated London locations to big brands spreading across the country, there are plenty of new hotels opening their doors this year.

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair

The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair is set to feature 50 guest rooms and 78 private residences. The property has been designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and will be home to Akira Back's first UK restaurant and bar, as well as a spa with a 25m swimming pool, sauna, vitality pool and relaxation room.

Art'otel London Hoxton is set to open just over a year after the launch of Art'otel London Battersea Power Station. The 357-bedroom hotel, 48 of which are suites, also offers bars, restaurants and outdoor terraces with panoramic views of the capital, an art gallery featuring works by D*Face, flexible workspaces for 300 guests and a 60-seat auditorium. There will be an indoor swimming pool, a spa with four treatment rooms and a skyline gym on the 26th floor. The hotel has been designed by Squire & Partners.

IHG Hotels & Resorts will be launching its first net-zero hotel, Voco Zeal Exeter Science Park, in partnership with Zeal hotels. The property has been designed to meet the requirements of the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Framework Definition of the UK Green Building Council and will feature a restaurant, bar, gym, gardens, meeting space and multiple car charging points.
Six Senses London

IHG Hotels & Resorts' wellbeing and sustainability brand Six Senses is set to make its London debut. The hotel, opening as part of the £1b redevelopment of the Whiteleys department store in Bayswater, will offer 14 branded residences, a lobby bar, lounge and an all-day restaurant with an open kitchen. The Six Senses Spa will have a 20m indoor swimming pool, 12 treatment rooms and a relaxation room with vaulted ceilings. Six Senses London has been designed by AvroKO with executive architects EPR.

Kinsfolk and Co's first hotel, the Newman, will have a European brasserie, cocktail bar, wellness floor with a salt therapy room and hydrotherapy pool, and a rooftop floor available for exclusive use. The property is being designed by Pernille Lind and Richy Almond of Lind + Almond, who were behind Hotel Sanders in Copenhagen and Bob & Cloche in the Gleneagles hotel in Perthshire.

The UK is set to welcome its first Park Hyatt with Park Hyatt London River Thames. The property resides in a new series of developments by R&F UK, which also offers 2,300 apartments and more than 120,000 sq ft of commercial space. The hotel is being designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Allies and Morrison and Gillespies, and will showcase a living room, large ballroom, executive wing and event spaces.
Mollie's Manchester

Mollie's is set to open its third and largest site to date, in Manchester. The hotel will be spread across five floors and feature a range of classic doubles, twins, bunk rooms, studios and luxe suites with freestanding bathtubs, walk-in wardrobes and Peloton bikes. It will also mark the brand's first city centre property.

Red Carnation Hotels' first Scottish property will be housed within the former Royal Overseas League building, which was previously a private members' club. The hotel is being restored and designed by Toni Tollman, Philippe Bonino and Brian Brennan. Statement features will include views of Edinburgh Castle, a centrepiece wine wall with more than 200 fine wines and whiskies, and a staircase with a hand-painted mural by Croxford and Saunders, inspired by historic Scottish explorers.

The Pig Hotel Group will be launching its ninth property, Pig on the Farm, in a 16th-century listed stone-build manor house set in 53 acres of land, five miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. The property was previously owned by the Mordaunt family and will be restored to house a restaurant and rooms "larger than previously seen". Three Shepherd's Hut treatment cabins will also be available.
The Emory

Maybourne Hotel Group, which operates Claridge's, the Connaught and the Berkeley, will open its fourth hotel in London. The Emory will mark the group's first new London property in 50 years and has been designed by the late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour of architectural firm RSHP.
The hotel will be made up of suites spread across nine floors as well as offering a private rooftop with views of Hyde Park and a four-floor wellness space showcasing a 22m pool. Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will also launch his ABC kitchen concept at the hotel.
