Pip MacDonald has been appointed head chef of Levan restaurant in London's Peckham from the same role at Merchants Tavern.
MacDonald took on the role at Merchants Tavern following the departure of Neil Borthwick, having served under him as sous chef.
She also previously worked in Hong Kong as sous chef at Tom Aikens' Pawn, as a senior sous chef at J Sheekey restaurant in London's Leicester Square and as a chef de partie at Eureka 89 in Melbourne, Australia.
Levan is an all-day bar and dining space serving contemporary European dishes. Named after DJ Larry Levan, it was the second restaurant from Nicholas Balfe, Mark Gurney and Matt Bushnell following Salon in Brixton.
Grace Dent described the menu at Levan as "a list of wholly enticing potential deliciousness" when reviewing the restaurant in The Guardian in January.
