Burger & Lobster gears up for four new openings

Burger & Lobster is set to open its new Manchester restaurant at the end of July this year, with another site in Bath and two international franchises following later this year.

The brand, run by co-founder and director George Bukhov, originally revealed plans to open the Manchester restaurant in August last year, having secured a site in King Street in the city.

The ground floor of the Ship House Canal building on the corner of King Street and Brown Street is being converted into a 167-cover restaurant and 45-cover bar.

Originally, the restaurant was expected to open early this year but refurbishing the listed building has taken longer than originally planned.

Meanwhile, September has been slated for the opening of the brand's restaurant in the Milsom Place shopping centre in Bath.

A franchised operation is set to open in Stockholm in Sweden in July, and another in Dubai in September.

These will be the second and third Burger & Lobster restaurants to open outside the UK, following the launch last year of the brand's New York site, which is managed directly by Bukhov's team.

The business, founded in 2011 by school friends George Bukhov, Ilya Demichev and Mikhail Zelman, and born out of the Goodman restaurant group, currently has seven sites in London, one in Cardiff, and one in New York. It also operates two Smack Lobster Roll Deli takeaway outlets in London.
