The team manager of the Welsh National Culinary Team is stepping down from his post after 10 years. Peter Jackson, chef-partner of Hotel Maes y Neuadd in Talsarnau, near Harlech, wants to devote more time to his business and his role as chairman of the Welsh Culinary Association.
Jackson helped the team secureinternational status with the World Association of Cooks Societies, the organising body for the Culinary Olympics, last year.
"Ten years as team manager is a long time and watching the team's development has been fabulous," Jackson said. "But it's time to stand aside and let the younger members of the team climb the ladder."
Jackson led the culinary team to medals at the Culinary Olympics in Germany, the Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg and the World Grand Prix in Basel in 1999.
Last month the team also took part in the first American Culinary Classic in Chicago, winning four silver medals.
