Thali Easton restaurant in Bristol has closed after over 20 years of trading.
The 50-cover restaurant was famed for serving home-cooked Indian street food and its signature tiffin takeaway.
In a statement on Instagram, the owners of Thali Easton, the Bristol Thali Company, said: “After 20+ amazing years, Easton Thali is closing its doors. Huge love and thanks to all our brilliant staff and loyal customers – it’s been one hell of a ride!
“The good news? Bahram [Ehsas] from Chai Guy is taking over the space with a brand new concept and we can’t wait to see what he cooks up! Need your Thali fix? Our friends Asha & Ramesh [Prasad] at Montpelier Thali have you covered and are keeping the Thali favourites going strong.”
The Bristol Thali Company started out catering at music festivals such as Glastonbury before opening its first permanent restaurant in Montpelier in 2001.
It added subsequent outlets in Easton, Totterdown and Clifton, but only operated its Montpelier Thali restaurant after the company fell into administration in 2018.
