The competition, now in its twelfth year, is the go-to survey for operators seeking genuine insight into employee engagement and workplace culture
There is just one week left to make your nominations in for the Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2026, the awards that celebrate the top employers in the hospitality sector.
The awards, run in partnership with Korero and sponsored by Umbrella Training, celebrate the top 30 operators setting the standard in people engagement and workplace culture.
The competition, which is now in its twelfth year, has been the go-to survey for operators seeking genuine insight into employee engagement and workplace culture, and shines a spotlight on businesses of all sizes, both established and entrepreneurial, recognising them as exemplars of employment best practice.
From boosting morale to unlocking exclusive opportunities – including being in with a chance to win a Catey – there are so many reasons to take part.
Co-founder of HR tech platform Korero Jo Harley, who has been at the heart of the survey’s success, said that business which enter “will get a measure of what’s important to your employees and understand how they think, plus you get to benchmark that against others in the industry”.
“It’s a huge USP,” she added.
Operators can apply as a whole business or choose to enter a single site or region.
Harley cited the Pig hotels and Lexington Catering as two businesses that have entered single sites, as did SushiSamba London last year, which found itself in the top six.
There are benefits to doing either, with Harley sharing that for larger businesses, “you only need 30% of employees to complete they survey”, while entering a single site can provide “a strong benchmark for other parts of the business to aspire to”.
Last year the top 30 included businesses such as Rosewood London, Lettice Events and Houston & Hawkes.
The top six Best Places to Work in Hospitality were Amplify, Dakota Hotels, Market Place Food Hall, Red Carnation, Signature Dining and Sushisamba London. The Catey for Best Employer 2025 was awarded to Red Carnation, which previously won the award in 2023. The luxury hotel group, which has 11 sites across the country and 550 employees, stood out as a having built a deeply rooted people-centred culture and a strong sense of pride among employees in their workplace.
The survey should take about five minutes to complete (it’s anonymous and is treated in complete confidence). Your employees will be asked a series of questions about working for your organisation, as well as having the opportunity to write their own comments.
An overall score will be generated from your results, which will enable The Caterer and Korero to identify the top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality.
Those who make the top 30 will be invited to attend the People Summit in May 2026, where their achievement will be announced to the audience and celebrated during an evening of networking, drinks, and canapés. The top six employers will also be invited to enter the Best Employer Award at the 2026 Cateys.
Whatever you do, don’t delay in submitting those survey results. Entries close in a week’s time, on Wednesday 4 February, so enter today
