The owners of Scotland's Michelin-starred Knockinaam Lodge are still looking for a buyer eight months after putting the hotel up for sale.
Agent Knight Frank said the property had attracted a lot of interest, but no formal offers had yet been made.
John Coleman, at Knight Frank's Edinburgh office, said the agent had sent out 600 sales brochures for the 10-bedroom country inn hotel in Portpatrick, Dumfries & Galloway, and was having to reprint them. The asking price is £850,000.
He said while most of the interest had come from the south of England, there had been enquiries from the USA, Germany and Australia.
He said potential US buyers viewed the lodge as a business, while those from Europe were interested in converting it into a private home.
Pauline Ashworth and her husband Michael Bricker have run the hotel since 1994. They are in no hurry and expect the sale could take a year or two to complete. Once it is sold they will return to their native Canada, where they will spend more time with their family.
