Art'otel London Hoxton appoints Axel Krueger as GM

Axel Krueger has been appointed general manager of Art'otel's second UK hotel in London's Hoxton, which is due to open in 2024.

Krueger has 17 years' experience in hotel management and first joined the Art'otel's owner, PPHE Hotel Group, as food and beverage director for Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in 2010. He moved into operational and hotel management roles at Park Plaza Riverbank as well as becoming opening general manager at the London Waterloo site.

He has also worked at hotels including St Moritz's Suvretta House and Kempinski Grand Hotel de Bains, as well as opening three Starwood Hotels across Europe.

Most recently, Krueger was general manager of Park Plaza Riverbank, a position he had held since 2021.

"Art'otel has been the hotel on everyone's lips since Art'otel London Battersea Power Station exploded onto the scene earlier this year, so I can't wait to bring its creative spirit to one of London's most thriving artistic neighbourhoods," said Krueger.

"Art'otel London Hoxton will be a true hub for inspiration and we can't wait for our guests to experience this one of a kind destination."

The hotel will be set across 26 floors and will feature art from artist DFace, as well as two original Banksy pieces, which will be on public display.

The corner site within South Shoreditch Conservation Area will offer 357 rooms, including 48 suites, as well as destination restaurants and bar, art gallery, events space, auditorium and extensive leisure facilities, including an indoor swimming pool and spa.
