She joined the Cotswolds pub as head of food in April last year
Chef Sally Abé has announced her departure from the Bull in Charlbury, roughly nine months after she joined as head of food.
In a post on Instagram, Abé said: “Moving to the Cotswolds was never on my bingo card but I must admit it’s been a brilliant year and I’ve made so many new friends, learned so much about produce and had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people.”
She hinted at some “exciting” new plans that she planned to share soon.
Abé joined the Public House Group’s Cotswolds outpost back in April 2025 to lead the kitchen team and work with the Public House Produce farm at Bruern Farms.
Prior to that, she headed up the Michelin-starred Harwood Arms in London’s Fulham and was consultant chef at the Pem at the Conrad London St James for four years.
Abé also made it to the 2025 finals of Great British Menu, where she served the starter at the banquet.
The Bull opened in 2023 and won a Michelin Bib Gourmand the following year. Its parent company Public House group is also behind buzzy London gastropubs the Pelican and the Fat Badger – both in Notting Hill, the Hero in Maida Vale and most recently the Hart in Marylebone.
