The Public House Group will open the Hart in October with a menu celebrating nostalgic British dishes
The Public House Group, which operates the Bull in Charlbury and the Pelican in London, is to open the Hart on London’s Chiltern Street next month.
Like the other locations run by Phil Winser, James Gummer and Olivier van Themsche, the pub will be food-led with a focus on British produce sourced directly from regenerative farms and growers.
British beers and pub snacks produced in-house, such as pork scratchings, chicken liver toast and pork pies, will be served on the ground floor, while the dining room upstairs will celebrates nostalgic British dishes, such as crab cakes, bubble and squeak, steak and potatoes, and banoffee pie.
James Gummer, who oversees day-to-day operations at the group, said: “We’re excited to be opening in Marylebone this month and look forward to getting to know our new neighbours.
“The Hart is different from our previous venues as we’re surrounded by offices. We will continue to serve classics using quality British produce, but you will also find some lighter options on the menu for the lunchtime crowd – from soups and salads to tarts and kedgeree.”
The Hart takes its name from the Hart family, who operated the site in the 1840s.
