Domino's Pizza appoints new CEO who tripled number of European stores

Andrew Rennie is to take over as chief executive of Domino's Pizza Group from 7 August.

Rennie has spent more than 20 years at Domino's, including as chief executive at its businesses in France and Belgium, Australia and New Zealand and, most recently, Europe.

He led Domino's European business from 2014 to 2020, which included the master franchise agreements for France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

During his time in Australia, he grew the market capitalisation of the company from AU$132m (£69m) to AU$5.85b (£3b).

In Europe, he oversaw the tripling of the number of Domino's stores, more than quadrupled revenue and grew its earnings by 13.5 times.

His new role leading the brand in the UK and Ireland will see him paid £775,000 a year. He will also be eligible for an annual bonus of up to £1.16m, as well as other financial benefits worth up to 300% of his base salary depending on company performance.

Rennie said: "The Domino's brand is in my blood and I've admired the strong progress the UK and Ireland business has made in recent years.

"Working with the team at Domino's Pizza Group and the world-class franchisees here, I know we can take the business to new heights and I can't wait to get started."

Rennie is also a non-executive director of AIM-listed Domino's Pizza Poland plc and chair of the Cheesecake Shop, a 238-store business in Australia and New Zealand.

He replaces Elias Diaz Sese, who took over the role in an interim capacity in October 2022 after the pizza chain's former boss Dominic Paul left to head up Whitbread.

Sese will remain as a non-executive director of the group, a role he has held since joining the board in 2019.
