Greggs resolves technical issue that led to temporary store closures

Greggs has confirmed it has resolved the technical issue that led to some of its stores closing earlier this morning.

The bakery chain had experienced problems accepting payments in its shops across the UK, which was widely reported by customers on X.

A spokesperson for Greggs said: "We have now resolved the technical issue that affected tills in some of our shops earlier this morning.

"The majority of shops affected are now able to take card and cash payments again and we expect the issue to be fully resolved shortly. We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused to our customers."

It comes after McDonald's was impacted by a technical outage last week, which led to diners across the globe struggling to receive drive-through and online orders.
