The Golden Flake Tavern will open in the Newcastle department store Fenwick on Saturday
Greggs is opening its first pub, the Golden Flake Tavern, in the Newcastle department store Fenwick on Saturday 27 September.
Open from 11am until 7pm, the pub will serve Greggs-inspired beers on draft including the Pink Jammie IPA and Gosforth 1939 Stottie Lager from Full Circle Brew Co.
There will also be a cocktails such as the Pink Jammie Fizz and a Spiced Caramel Doughnut Old Fashioned, alongside a full drinks menu including soft drinks, wines, Newcstle Brown Ale and Guiness.
The pub will offer a number of twists on its bakery classics including a chicken bake parmo and a steak bake mixed grill.
It also plans to offer guests a ploughman’s platter and a Greggs carvery with all the trimmings on Sundays.
In 2023, the bakery chain opened an 80-cover “fine-dining” restaurant in the same site at Fenwicks.
The steak bake was paired with truffled creamy dauphinoise potatoes, green beans and a serving of almonds, while the Greggs Yum Yum was drizzled in caramel sauce and macadamia brittle – all served in silver cloches by waiters dressed in traditional white shirts, ties and Bistro Greggs aprons.
