The holiday park operator opened its first pub in partnership with Wetherspoon in spring 2024
British holiday park operator Haven is set to nearly double its portfolio of JD Wetherspoon pubs following a £9m investment.
The 830-strong pub group entered the exclusive partnership with Haven in January 2024, which saw it launch the Five Stones at Primrose Valley, Yorkshire – a franchised pub – in March of that year.
Earlier this year, Haven also invested a further £6.7m into its Wetherspoon pubs portfolio, resulting in the opening of the Red Rocks at the Devon Cliffs in Devon; the Humber Stone at Cleethorpes Beach in Lincolnshire; the London Stone on the Kent Coast and the Sir Thomas Haggerston Castle in Northumberland.
Haven is now planning to launch four more on-site Wetherspoon pubs in spring 2026, taking its total Wetherspoon portfolio to nine pubs with the addition of Haven’s Cala Gran in Blackpool, Lakeland in Cumbria, Riviere Sands in Cornwall, and Hopton in Norfolk.
This forms part of Haven’s £9m investment in its pubs and a wider £14m investment in its food and beverage outlets planned for this winter.
Over the course of 2025, the leisure operator has already invested £140m across its parks and since entering the partnership with JD Wetherspoon has served close to 300,000 breakfasts and 700,000 pints across its five sites.
Haven Rockley Park in Poole is also set to welcome a new Burger King, bringing the total number of Burger King sites on Haven’s parks to 22.
Other investments include a Show Bar renovation at Marton Mere in Blackpool, as well as a new supermarket and £10m water park at Haven Kent Coast.
Simon Palethorpe, chief executive at Haven, said: “Haven is all about giving our customers more of what they love – and our partnership with JD Wetherspoon does just that.”
Michael Barron, commercial director at JD Wetherspoon, added: “Our partnership with Haven continues to go from strength to strength. We are delighted that four new JD Wetherspoon pubs will open at Haven parks in 2026.
“We are confident that they will prove popular with Haven’s holidaymakers and owners.”
Haven owns and operates 39 holiday parks throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
In April, JD Wetherspoon revealed plans to grow to over 1,000 sites through franchising with hotel partners.
