The company anticipates a reasonable outcome for the financial year
JD Wetherspoon has reported like-for-like sales growth of 5.6% in the 13 weeks to April 27 2025, helped by good weather, with year-to-date growth having increased by 5.1%.
The pub giant said total sales for the period stood slightly below like-for-like increases due to recent closures and sales.
In the year to date JD Wetherspoon has opened two pubs and sold seven, with a further four to five pub openings planned.
The portfolio currently stands at 795 pubs, with seven more operated under franchise agreements.
JD Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin, said: “Bearing in mind that recent trading has been helped by favourable weather, the company anticipates a reasonable outcome for the financial year, notwithstanding previously reported wage and tax increases of approximately £1.2m per week.”
