A man and woman were recused from a hotel in London’s King’s Cross after a fire broke out in a basement laundry room.

Around 60 firefighters were called to the hotel in Argyle Street at about 1.30am on 28 December.

London Fire Brigade has said that 47 people had left the building before crews arrived, with a man and woman rescued from the first floor by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

There were no reports of any injuries and the blaze was under control by about 3am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
