The chain has struggled in London after being valued at over £50m in 2021
The vegan burger chain backed by Formula One driver Sir Lewis Hamilton has closed its remaining UK restaurants six years after its launch.
Neat Burger confirmed to The Sun its final UK sites in London’s Camden and Wembley had permanently closed, which the paper said could see the potential loss of around 150 jobs.
The chain was founded in 2019 and at one point grew to eight London restaurants with the backing of Hamilton and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
It was valued at £51m after completing a multi-million-pound funding round in 2021 and announced plans to expand to 30 sites across the capital. However, progress stalled, and it closed four London restaurants at the end of 2023 due to a “decrease in footfall”.
The group later expanded its menu away from a focus on burgers and chips to include healthier options including salads.
A spokesperson for Neat Burger told The Sun: "We have no further comment at this time, other than to confirm that the business has taken the difficult decision to close its UK restaurants.”
Neat Burger looks to still be trading from two restaurants in Milan but its two New York sites appear to have closed.
