The opening would be the group’s first foray into the north west English city
Dishoom is set to open the next of its Permit Room spin-off restaurants in Liverpool.
The group has made a licensing application for a site at Exchange Court in the city centre, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Adverts for a Liverpool floor manager role with a salary of £39,500 - £42,000, and a general manager with “competitive” pay have also appeared on Dishoom’s online jobs portal.
“We’re thrilled to be opening our brand-new Permit Room in Liverpool, and we’re on the lookout for brilliant managers to join the opening team,” the group’s website said.
Dishoom was founded by cousins Shamil and Kavi Thakrar in London in 2010 and has grown to 11 restaurants under its main brand and four Permit Rooms in Notting Hill, Brighton, Oxford and Cambridge.
The spin-off Permit Room brand is a more casual, drinks-led offer serving an all-day menu alongside beers and cocktails. Its Notting Hill restaurant is also the first of the group’s sites to feature overnight bedrooms for customers.
Earlier this month Dishoom announced it had secured its first outside investment in a reported £300m deal with US private equity firm L Catterton. The partnership will see the brand open its first US restaurant in New York in 2026 as well as continue expansion in the UK.
The Indian restaurant group saw turnover rise 17% to £137.1m in 2024 while pre-tax profits rose to £10.13m, up from £7.4m in 2023.
