Wildhive’s second property in Northumberland is set to open next summer
The Wildhive Collection has shared plans for the opening of its next hotel, Wildhive Eshott Hall in Northumberland.
Set to open in summer 2026, the Georgian manor near the hamlet of Eshott will be the group’s second site.
It follows the launch of Wildhive Callow Hall in Derbyshire, which opened in September 2021 and won Hotel of the Year – Independent at the 2025 Cateys.
The Grade II-listed main house at Eshott Hall is undergoing a full renovation and will feature 14 bedrooms.
Wildhive Eshott Hall will also feature 15 cabins, each with its own private deck, outdoor bath and swing seat. The former stables will be converted into six additional guest rooms, which will be accessible and dog-friendly.
The site will also feature a wellness area with a gym, treatment rooms, and four outdoor treatment pods.
Matt Hulme of Dynargh Design is working with Wildhive on the opening, drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, pairing repurposed antiques with bespoke UK-made pieces that reflect the colours and textures of the local moors and National Park.
Executive chef David Bukowicki will create seasonal menus created to showcase local seafood, moorland-grazed meats, alongside fruits and vegetables from the hotel’s own garden. Wildhive will also collaborate with Derbyshire suppliers to bring regional produce to Eshott Hall, while sharing fresh Northumbrian ingredients with Callow Hall.
Ed Burrows, co-founder of the Wildhive Collection, said: “We’ve loved working with Northumberland County Council to bring this long-imagined project to fruition. Their backing has allowed us to create a hotel that truly reflects Northumberland’s character – and hopefully encourages even more people to discover this extraordinary corner of England.”
Councillor Colin Horncastle, cabinet member for planning with Northumberland County Council, added: "We’re delighted to welcome Wildhive to Northumberland at such a dynamic time for the county and are pleased to have been able to play our part in the process.
"Wildhive Eshott Hall opens as interest in Northumberland and all it has to offer continues to grow. We look forward to showcasing our wonderful landscape and with Wildhive, Eshott Hall’s heritage will be celebrated – and its future protected."
