The historic Market Building in Covent Garden will mark the 16th site for the group
Inception Group is set to open a flagship Mr Fogg’s Tavern in Covent Garden, boasting 4,500 sq ft of space and 130 covers.
The new site is due to open this summer set in the historic Market Building in the centre of Covent Garden.
The venue will feature the brand’s signature Victorian-style interiors, alongside a 65-seat courtyard.
The flagship site will be the 16th venue for Inception Group, with bars including its newest opening, the Nineties-themed Bunga 90, which opened nearby last year.
Other brands within the group include Cahoots and Control Room B at Battersea Power Station.
Charlie Gilkes, co-founder of Inception Group, said: “It’s a huge honour to be opening one of our tavern concepts in such a heritage location, and we are very grateful to Shaftesbury Capital for the opportunity. There are so many stunning, original features in this beautiful listed Market Building and we are really looking forward to welcoming Londoners and visitors from beyond this summer.”
Emma Matus, head of restaurant leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, added: “The signing of Mr Fogg’s within the historic Market Building represents a strong addition to Covent Garden’s food and beverage offer. The Market Building is globally recognised as one of the most iconic retail and leisure spaces, which means securing concepts that align with our distinctive heritage, global appeal, and emphasis on experience is important. This location is an excellent fit for Inception Group, and we look forward to welcoming them later this year."
In September last year, Inception Group reported turnover rise 9% to £28.9m in the year ended 31 December 2024.
Revenue at its bars open for more than a year rose 6.4% during 2024, while Inception shrugged off surging energy bills and the cost of living crisis to see underlying earnings inch up by £100,000 to £3.1m.
