Sheffield food hall sets 2024 opening date

Cambridge Street Collective, a new food hall in central Sheffield, is set to finally open this spring.

First announced in 2021, the site is part of Sheffield City Council's £470m Heart of the City regeneration scheme.

Once final fit-out work is completed by Henry Boot Construction, Cambridge Street Collective will be run by Blend Family – the company behind Sheffield's Cutlery Works food court – and feature a food hall, cookery school and rooftop bar.

Traders will include independent Sheffield food and drink companies, with the intention of showcasing local pop-up chefs and vendors.

Originally, plans called for a rooftop fine dining restaurant, terrace and bar operated by Jöro chef Luke French and his wife and business partner, Stacey Sherwood-French. However, this concept will now no longer feature.

Blend Family, formerly Milestone Group, was founded by Matt Bigland and is managed with his wife and business partner, Nina Patel Bigland.

Matt said he was keen to showcase Asian cuisine within Cambridge Street Collective, adding: "In our top floor, along with a rooftop bar, we want to offer experiential dining. We're aiming to bring in things that I've seen in China, it'll be a bit like glamping with barbeques, hotpot and dim sum, and it'll be fun. Families will love it. Kids will love it. It will be very social."
