Supa Ya Ramen has closed its final London restaurant, three years after its launch.
Chef Luke Findlay, previously of the Hand & Flowers and Berber & Q, crowdfunded the launch of the original Dalston site in 2020 following a string of pop-ups and residencies across the capital.
A second restaurant followed in Peckham in 2022, but it closed last year.
Supa Ya Ramen confirmed the closure of its Dalston restaurant on Instagram, writing: “It’s with a heavy heart and a tear in the eye that we’ve had to make the difficult decision to close 499.
“It’s been an incredible few years in Dalston but it’s time to say goodbye for now.”
The post added that it was not the end for Supa Ya Ramen, which won fans for its “traditionally inauthentic” menu, including a cheeseburger mazesoba; and a Cumberland sausage tantanmen.
“Everyone who has ever come in for some noodles we love you and it won’t be the last time you’ll be able to dunk your head in one of our bowls of soup,” the restaurant wrote.
“We’re gonna take some time to reflect and reenergise to come back bigger and better so keep your eyes peeled for future projects. For now it’s chopsticks down.”
Findlay published the first Supa Ya Ramen cookbook last year.
