Gordon Ramsay’s UK restaurants report record sales

Gordon Ramsay’s UK restaurant arm has reported record revenues after opening 20 new sites in its most recent financial year.

 

The chef’s global business empire secured fresh investment from private equity firm Lion Capital earlier this year and merged into one company headquartered in London.

 

Its UK accounts, which have been restructured to bring them in line with international operations, saw sales rise 40% to £134m in the 70 weeks ended December 2024, the Times reports.

 

UK sales rose 3% to a record £98.4m when adjusted to reflect 2024, up from £95.6m in 2023.

 

The Times reports the restaurant business made an operating loss before deductibles of £7.3m over the 70-week period, partly due to costs associated with the chef’s restaurant openings at 22 Bishopsgate in London.

 

Earnings adjusted for exceptional items reached £12m in 2024, up from £8.3m the prior year.

 

Ramsay’s UK portfolio spans 34 restaurants including three-Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London.

 

Earlier this year he opened two restaurants, a bar and cookery school at 22 Bishopsgate, the tallest building in London.

 

An outpost of Bread Street Kitchen, his casual British restaurant brand, is due to launch at the tower later this year.

 

The chef will open the UK’s first Hell’s Kitchen branded restaurant at the Cumberland hotel in London next spring after signing a deal with Clermont Hotel Group.

 

He is also backing the launch of Bonheur by Matt Abé in the former Le Gavroche site in Mayfair, which will open in October.
