From ultra-modern sculptures to festive glitz and glam, we round up the most impressive Christmas trees in London hotels
The selection of Christmas trees this year from London’s hottest hotels could not have been more varied. At one end of the spectrum, there’s Claridge’s celebrating unmistakably British luxury with its Burberry-themed Christmas tree, while the Connaught has unleashed an edgy streak with its AI-generated-baubles inspired by a creative installation at Gagosian New York.
Here are some of the most creative and inspirational festive decorations across the city.
Art’otel London Hoxton has unveiled a 9ft MAS-X.3 sculpture (pictured top), designed by artist Shane Keeling as its 2025 Christmas tree. The installation is formed of shattered white porcelain toys that have been carefully reconstructed and interwoven with festive lights in a nod to holiday season consumerism. The sculpture has been topped with a luminous yellow orb, rather like the star at the top of a traditional Christmas tree.

Claridge’s has partnered with Daniel Lee, chief creative officer of Burberry, for its flagship Christmas tree. The traditional 16ft tree has been decorated with bows – a Victorian symbol of unity – made from surplus Burberry fabrics. The tree has been covered in wild foliage and thistle, Scotland’s national flower, paying homage to Burberry’s connections to the Highlands, where its cashmere scarves are produced. The tree has also been decorated with baubles created by a British glassblower.

The Ned has unveiled its first branded Christmas tree with Scotch whisky house the Macallan. Designed in collaboration with florist Grandirosa, the 22ft tree is draped in brown velvets reminiscent of the signature Macallan Red whisky and decorated with copper baubles to evoke the distillery’s copper stills.

The Connaught tree has been designed by Swiss-born contemporary visual artist Urs Fischer. The 31ft Nordmann fir from Denmark draws inspiration from Fischer’s 2022 installation ‘People’, which was featured at the Gagosian in New York, and is decorated with spheres of AI-generated faces illuminated from within by LED. The installation aims to foster a sense of community by representing people of all ages and races.

The Goring has partnered with British fashion brand Lulu Guinness for its London Calling Christmas tree. The tree has been wrapped in a winding scarlet ribbon and Lulu Guinness’s signature red lips, while miniature London postboxes and phone boxes line the bottom.

The Corinthia London has reinterpreted the 12 days of Christmas to offer a selection of festive experiences across the luxury hotel. The property has been transformed into a winter wonderland complete with gold, amber and bronze tones, with partridges perched on the top of each Christmas tree.

Raffles London at the OWO has unveiled a series of gingerbread-inspired decorations, including a grand gingerbread house within the courtyard. The hotel is also hosting a series of Christmas-themed events, including an afternoon tea filled with White Christmas and Deck the Hall pastries.

The Rosewood London has partnered with florist Paul Thomas to transform the Edwardian manor house into a Dickensian haunt. A 24ft Christmas tree stands tall in the middle of the courtyard topped with a writer’s quill and laced with encased candles at its base. The hotel has been decked with literary references that pay homage to the neighbourhood’s celebrated novelists.

The Peninsula London Christmas tree has been accented in rubies, reds and scarlets and is surrounded by piles of presents. The hotel is also hosting a series of festive activities, including Cantonese feasts at Canton Blue and Christmas tasting menus at the two-Michelin-starred Brooklands by Claude Bosi.

The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair Christmas tree has been flecked with gold and glass in a nod to the bespoke chandelier made for the hotel by lighting designer Lee Broom. Meanwhile, designer Studio Waldemeyer’s Amadeus LED candle-light installation above the Hanover Bar reflects the property’s contemporary festive spirit.

Iconic Luxury Hotels’ 11 Cadogan Gardens features a Christmas tree adorned with gold and twinkly lights for guests to admire while enjoying its festive afternoon tea, surrounded by the hotel’s vibrant interiors and roaring fireplaces.
