The opening will bring the number of Permit Room restaurants to five
Dishoom is to soft launch its new Permit Room restaurant in Liverpool in February before the official opening in early March.
The restaurant group’s Permit Room spin-off is a more casual, drinks-led site that also offers an all-day menu. It’s upcoming Liverpool opening is the fifth branch of the concept, joining Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton and Portobello in London.
During its soft launch in February guests will be able to enjoy a 50% discount on food.
Dishoom chief executive Brian Trolip said: “We’ve wanted to bring Dishoom to Liverpool for a long time, and Permit Room felt like the perfect way to do it.
“Our Permit Rooms are lively and rooted in the spirit of Bombay’s drinking culture – a place for cocktails, comfort food and connection, all day long. We can’t wait to open our doors and become part of the city.”
Dishoom, which is also set to launch its first international restaurant in New York’s Lower Manhattan later this year, secured its first outside investment in 2025.
The Indian restaurant group, founded by cousins Shamil and Kavi Thakrar, penned a deal with US private equity firm L Catterton in August worth a reported £300m.
The business also operates 11 restaurants under its main brand.
