Fuelling Minds Catering Management will target independent schools, as well as business and industry clients
David Anderson, former managing director (south) for Wilson Vale, has launched his own catering business, Fuelling Minds Catering Management.
The new B&I and independent schools caterer is targeting sites in Cambridge and its surrounding areas, as well as Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, London, the Midlands, Bedford and Milton Keynes.
Anderson was based at Wilson Vale for over 10 years, having started out as area manager before becoming managing director (south) in March 2022. He remained in the role until April this year.
Prior to Wilson Vale, he worked at Lusso, CH&Co’s fine dining brand, and also operated his own gastropub, the Crown Inn restaurant, which was listed in the Michelin and AA Guides.
He said: “It is important to me that Fuelling Minds balances profit with purpose, and that giving back is embedded within our DNA from the outset. Integrity, transparency, trust and quality are the foundations on which we will build the company.
“I firmly believe in the importance of taking meaningful action rather than merely offering words of support. By committing to support charities and social enterprises that are addressing pressing social and environmental challenges, we hope to make a difference in a variety of ways such as through fundraising, volunteering and awareness raising.”
He added: “Our aim is to grow at a sensible rate, ensuring that our growth is sustainable and deliverable. We will offer creative and bespoke catering services using the freshest, local ingredients available and delivered by craft-trained, like-minded people in whom clients can place their trust.”
Fuelling Minds has also committed to using only Marine Stewardship Council-approved fish and Social Impact Coffee in a bid to uphold ethical sourcing.
