José Pizarro to open new all-day London restaurant

José Pizarro is to open a new all-day restaurant in London later this summer.

The Bermondsey Street site will be called Lolo, which is the Spanish nickname for Manuel, Pizarro's middle name.

It will be a new venture into all-day dining for the chef and his first London restaurant to serve breakfast.

Details of the menu have yet to be released, but a press announcement said Lolo would offer "an exceptional blend of the things that José is best known for – excellent food, wine and great hospitality".

It will be the chef's third restaurant on Bermondsey Street, which is where he opened his first tapas bar José in 2011 and later his Pizarro restaurant.

Pizarro also runs restaurants at Broadgate Circle and at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, as well as the Swan Inn pub in Esher.

"Lolo is my exciting new place where we're going to create the best atmosphere for people to enjoy eating and drinking throughout the whole day," said Pizarro.

"We have a super-talented team, so I know Lolo is going to be a place where people will have a lovely time!"

Last month the chef was honoured with the Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic, which is Spain's equivalent of a knighthood, and is awarded to those who have supported and promoted Spain worldwide.

He is the only Spanish chef to have ever been recognised with the cross.
