Lore Group global head of IT Gavin Allison will describe how he has led a project to standardise an industry-leading experience across the group’s properties at The Caterer’s Tech Confex
Lore Group global head of IT Gavin Allison will reveal how the newly formed hotel group is to standardise its hotels under one technological umbrella at The Caterer Tech Confex.
Allison is spearheading a project to scrap all inherited systems and create a cutting-edge guest journey that standardises an industry-leading experience across the group’s properties.
In conversation with The Caterer editor James Stagg at the Tech Confex on 25 June, held in partnership with Ruckus Networks, a CommScope Company, he will explain why technology is the backbone behind the group’s growth plans and how it has gone about taking on such a significant standardisation project.
Allison said: “When Lore Group was established, we essentially inherited properties from a variety of third parties. It meant different property management system, point of sale systems, upgraded door locks, you name it. So along with creating the Lore brand came a big standardisation project.
“One of the key focuses is the guest journey. That guest journey was broken, so we started from scratch to build a standard, industry-leading, guest journey.”
At the Tech Confex, Allison will explain how the technology was integrated across the business, revealing the unexpected challenges and all that he’s learned through the project.
Among the speakers joining Allison at the event will be two experts in the field of the future of technology. Dr Nicola Millard, principal innovation partner at BT, and Amelia Kallman, renowned author, speaker and futurist, will be speaking at the event on 25 June at One Moorgate Place.
Millard will address the “hype about artificial intelligence [AI]”, adding that it was being met with both fear and excitement at its potential capabilities.
She said: “What I’m going to be touching on is around how do we get better at figuring out what we’re good at, what technology is good at, and what that combination might bring.”
Kallman will share her latest research and insights into how emerging technologies will shape the future of the guest experience. She said: “This event brings together the brightest minds in hospitality tech to explore how innovation is shaping the future of the industry, from AI and automation to data-driven operations and next-gen guest experiences.”
