Crown at Burchetts Green and Langans Brasserie return to Michelin guide

The latest Michelin monthly update has seen the return of both the Crown at Burchetts Green in Maidenhead, Berkshire, and Langan's Brasserie in London to its listing.

Chef Simon Bonwick and his family left the Crown in 2021 after nine years and have since taken on the nearby Dew Drop Inn in Hurley. Dominic Chapman, chef-proprietor of the Beehive at White Waltham, took over the Crown and relaunched it last year. Langan's in Mayfair also reopened in 2021 under new ownership.

The latest update saw 37 restaurants added to the guide, including the Grand York's fine dining restaurant Legacy; Compton, which took over the premises of Modern Pantry in London and is a partnership between foodservice firm BaxterStorey and Compton real estate company; Anna Tobias' Café Deco in London's Bloomsbury; and the DC Comics-themed Monarch Theatre in Soho.

Rafael Cagali's latest restaurant at east London's Town Hall hotel, Elis, also made it in, as did Peter Sanchez-Iglesias's relaunched Casamia restaurant in Bristol, now called Casa.

Michelin now unveils new additions to its listings every month. The restaurants appear as recommended on its website and apps highlighted with a ‘new' symbol.

Michelin will launch its 2023 guide for Great Britain and Ireland on 27 March, returning to an in-person event for the first time in three years, and will be when the new Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmands and Green Stars will be unveiled.
