Here’s all the latest hospitality venues set to launch across the UK in February 2025
February is set to welcome a fantastic selection of new openings, ranging from cult-favourite brands launching their first permanent sites (think Crunch Sandwich Shop and chef Hannah Drye’s Dough Hands) to the Knave of Clubs pub in London’s Shoreditch, which might be east London’s answer to firm Soho favourite the Devonshire.
Meanwhile, Hambledon Wine Estate will be welcoming its first 40-cover restaurant this month, which will be serving the likes of grilled fillet of mackerel with soy and honey glaze, and roasted loin of Hampshire venison.

Dimitris Lytras, former group nightlife director at Caprice Holdings, has launched Mediterranean restaurant Hora in London’s Mayfair in partnership with Alessio Matrone, founder of IT Restaurants and co-owner Pierluigi Montuoro. They are joined by executive chef John Skotidas, who brings his Greek-Japanese-Philipino heritage into his food, and head pastry chef Asuka Mizushina.

Chef David Taylor of the Michelin-starred Grace & Savour in Hampton Manor is set to launch a second produce-led restaurant, Kynd, at the luxury hotel in Warwickshire. The menu combines French and British techniques with ingredients supplied by the estate’s Victorian Walled Garden.

British seafood restaurant Applebee’s in London’s Borough Market is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an extensive relaunch. The independent and family-run business is now led by Jack Applebee and his brothers, sons of original founders Joy and Graham Applebee, and executive chef Frankie van Loo.

Priyanka and Gourav Batra have opened Mediterranean-British restaurant Mélange in the former site of Oscar’s restaurant at the Red Hall hotel in Bury. The 80-cover diner features soft blues and earthy beiges and serves a selection of sharing platters, mezze and charcuterie boards.

The Beach House Group has welcomed its fourth site, Beach House Falmouth, in Cornwall. Owners Tamara Costin and William Speed acquired the site of the seafood restaurant and bar in October 2024, which now offers a Campari order station and a selection of seafood platters. It seats 100 covers across tables, booths and banquettes, with a further 200 covers available on the outdoor terrace.

Santa Maria is set to open its sixth pizzeria in London’s Paddington. Founders Angelo Ambrosio and Pasquale Chionchio first met in Napoli in the 1990s and launched their debut pizza restaurant in London’s Ealing in 2010 before expanding into neighbourhoods such as Fulham, Fitzrovia and Islington.

An all-you-can-eat lasagne restaurant is opening in London’s Shoreditch from first-time owner Joe Worthington, formerly of Hawksmoor. The Italian-American diner, which means ‘without end’ in Italian, will offer a £20 signature lasagne alongside a selection of off-menu dishes such as burnt lasagne ends and the lunchtime-special Lasangwich from chef Michael Bagnall.

Former Piano Works operations director Tristan Moffat has teamed up with Sing Easy’s Maisie Sellwood and Overtures’ Lucy Penrose and Dave Cribb to transform Oscar Wilde’s former Soho haunt into a musical theatre bar complete with lush green velvet, candles and stained-glass windows. Guests can sing to West End tunes played by the Room Where It Happens’ resident pianist.

The Tamisé Wine Library and Tea Lounge has opened within Park Hyatt London River Thames. Taking its name from the French word for the gentle dimming of light, the venue, designed by Studio Moren, offers over 300 wine labels from 24 countries and a vibrant selection of premium loose-leaf teas.

The team behind Meatliquor has launched a ‘watching bar’ in London’s Covent Garden, where pub-goers can spectate global live sports across more than 30 screens. The venue comes with late-night license until 2am for guests to play pinball and arcade games, as well as sing along to karaoke-on-demand. There will also be a Psycho-inspired photobooth.

Joo Won, the former head chef at the Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows in London, is set to launch a Korean restaurant in London’s Stoke Newington. The 30-cover diner will serve a selection of seasonal dishes taking inspiration from Korean and European cuisine paired to organic and biodynamic wines.

James Dye, co-owner of London venues the Camberwell Arms, Franks and Bambi, and Benjy Leibowitz, formerly of JKS, inHouse and the NoMad in New York City, have teamed up to form High Note Hospitality. The pair will relaunch the Knave of Clubs pub in Shoreditch, the east London institution dating back to 1880 that was formerly home to French restaurant Les Trois Garçons until the mid-200s. The Knave of Clubs will also welcome culinary director Patrick Powell, previously of Allegra and Chiltern Firehouse, who will open a separate restaurant, One Club Row, on the first floor of the building from March.

Cult sandwich brand Crunch is set to open its first permanent bricks and mortar site in London’s Soho. College friends Sacha Yonan, Michael Medovnikov and chef Joni Francisco, who trained under Alexis Gauthier at Gauthier Soho, started Crunch as a pop-up in a pub in London’s Hackney in 2022 before taking on a stall at Old Spitalfields Market, where the business became famed for its brioche-inspired bread.

Chef Hannah Drye is launching a permanent residency for Dough Hands at the 321-cover Old Nun’s Head pub, where she will serve her signature Italian-American 12-inch pizzas alongside a selection of sides and dips. She will continue to operate Dough Hands at the Spurstowe Arms by London Fields, where she became known for her Jode and Shroomy pizzas.

The Amalfi-inspired Alba London is set to open in Knightsbridge, a stone’s throw from Harrods department store. The restaurant was designed by architecture studio Yodezeen and features furniture from luxury design house Exteta, which specialises in yachts. It promises to bring ‘La Dolce Vita’ to the capital through dishes such as risotto con gambero and saffron and tagliatelle with white Alba truffle.

Gura Gura’s Gobind Chona is returning with casual Indian restaurant Oorja on London’s Shaftesbury Avenue. The 105-cover site is spread across two floors and has been adorned with terracotta panelling and beige furnishings. The all-day diner will also serve an Indian Sunday roast.

Berry Bros & Rudd and Symington Family Estates’ Hambledon Wine Estate, a renowned English winemaker based in Hampshire, is set to welcome its first restaurant and tasting room under managing director James Osborn and head chef Nick Edgar. Edgar previously worked as head chef at the two-Michelin-starred Belmond Le Manoir Aux’Quat Saisons in Oxfordshire before moving to the Samling in the Lake District, which also earned a Michelin star under his stewardship.
