Peros buys up Yorkshire

Independent Fairtrade coffee supplier Peros Coffee Innovators has acquired the Yorkshire Coffee Supply Company, which trades as Lincoln & York Coffee Suppliers.

Peros says the move is set to benefit customers of both companies, particularly those in the North and East, with improved products, services and distribution. Lincoln & York Coffee Suppliers will now be able to add Fairtrade products from Peros - Cafédirect, Teadirect and Cocodirect - to its portfolio.

"The Fairtrade brand will prove an important addition for customers as the catering industry becomes far more socially aware and looks for alternatives to the global coffee giants," said director James Roberts, who started Peros in 2000 with Peter Goodey. "Furthermore, through additional investment in the existing local operation, Peros will gain a stronger presence in the North and East, making us more attractive to the larger outlets in the region."
