Peter Sanchez-Iglesias: ‘Casamia will reopen again'

Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias has revealed plans to reopen his Michelin-starred Bristol restaurant Casamia.

Sanchez-Iglesias closed the restaurant, which was originally opened by his parents in 1999, in August 2022 to make way for a new project designed to be "a little more accessible".

He had worked at Casamia since he was 16-years-old, successfully leading the restaurant alongside his brother Jonray to its first Michelin star in 2009, which it retained until its closure.

The chef opened Italian restaurant Casa in its place in November 2022, serving Italian dishes such as potato ravioli with Lion's Mane mushroom ragu.

Sanchez-Iglesias teased the return of Casamia over the weekend on Instagram, posting: "Casamia will reopen again. Unfinished business. If you know of any development/projects where a gastronomic restaurant could live, please DM me, many thanks. Peter x."

He said he would consider "anywhere in the world", with commentators suggesting locations ranging from Cardiff to Las Vegas.
