Unox considers the whole working life of its equipment
Oven manufacturer Unox triumphed against the competition owing to its commitment to research and development, creating innovations such as the X-Generation range, which is designed to work more like a sous chef than a piece of equipment.
Individual.ChefUnox uses artificial intelligence to enable the ovens to ‘learn’ how to cook ingredients through the oven’s Digital.ID operating system, which asks for feedback from chefs on recently completed cooking processes.
Another technological development is the Data Driven Cooking (DDC) 2.0 solution, which can be found on Cheftop-X and several of the company’s other innovations. Again inspired by customer feedback, DDC 2.0 drives consistency through automatic menu updates and can detect underperforming units, setting goals and targets to improve.
Unox was also recognised for its operator outreach and for developing close relationships with its customers. One recent event saw a group of UK-based chefs invited to Italy, home of the Unox headquarters and to eight factories that produce 94% of the brand’s components, to see how and where the ovens are designed and manufactured. This initiative enabled the chefs to give Unox feedback on how they can be supported further in their culinary ambitions.
Unox posted 35% revenue growth in 2024 and has recently doubled its team members to enable it to improve its customer service.
“Unox is leading the way on innovation with AI cooking. Chef-to-chef training is invested heavily in its strategy.”
