Explosion at Exeter restaurant injures one
At least one person has been injured in an explosion at a restaurant in Exeter, Devon.
An explosive device went off at lunch time, after a man walked into the Giraffe restaurant in the Princesshay shopping mall, according to the BBC.
The restaurant and nearby premises have been evacuated, with at least one person having been taken to hospital, Devon and Cornwall Police has said.
A spokesman told the BBC: "While police are not fully aware of the circumstances of this incident it is believed that an explosion of some sort did take place."
Assistant chief constable Bob Spencer added: "We are carrying out a careful evacuation of the premises using the police and other emergency services that are at the scene.
"We will update the people of Exeter about what has happened as soon as we can.
