Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has acquired four new UK sites to expand its Garner and Voco brands
IHG has partnered with Fairview Hotels to open four new UK properties under its Garner and Voco subsidiaries.
The acquisition will see IHG open new three hotels under its midmarket brand Garner in Lincoln, Rotherham East and Chesterfield North – as well as a more premium offering in London’s Bloomsbury under its Voco brand.
All three of Garner’s new openings comprise 91 rooms and join the brand’s growing UK presence alongside existing Garner hotels in Edinburgh, Nottingham and London’s Victoria.
IHG aims to open 500 hotels under its Garner subsidiary in the next decade, and is targeting the UK as a key expansion market.
The hotel group new Voco outpost, which is scheduled to be fully rebranded by mid-2026, comprises 114 rooms – and will drive the premium brand’s growing footprint in the UK alongside outposts in Dublin, Corby and Letchworth Garden City.
Voco has become the fastest-growing brand in IHG’s premium segment since its launch in 2018, and opened it’s 100th hotel globally last year.
Willemijn Geels, IHG Hotels and Resorts’ vice president of Europe development said: “We are thrilled to be adding four new properties to our portfolio with Fairview Hotels, expanding our partnership to six hotels and underscoring our shared commitment to growth in the UK.
“The continued growth that we’re seeing across the market is a testament to the confidence our partners have in IHG’s brands, and it is exciting to see our newer voco and Garner brands resonating with owners and guests alike.”
