The extension has seen the addition of 100 bedrooms, taking the total room count to 290
Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh has reopened following a £22.4m refurbishment.
The eight-storey extension has increased the hotel’s capacity by 100 rooms, taking the total room count to 290, and created 15 new jobs.
The project has also seen the expansion of the hotel’s Leo’s restaurant to cater for both hotel guests and local diners.
Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh first opened in 2017 in the former 282-bedroom Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Haymarket).
Claire McLoughlin, general manager at Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh, said: “This extension represents a significant investment in both our hotel and the wider Edinburgh hospitality sector. Adding 100 new bedrooms and expanding Leo’s restaurant allows us to better meet the increasing demand we’re seeing from both leisure and business travellers, while also creating new local jobs.
“It’s a strong vote of confidence in Edinburgh as a destination and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality accommodation and guest experiences in the city.”
Leonardo Hotels was established in 2007 as the European arm of the Fattal Hotel Group.
It operates over 315 properties globally across Europe and Israel. There are nine Leonardo Royal hotels in the UK.
