Bread Ahead, Butchies and Club Mexicana are among the operators taking on Market Place’s largest project to date
Bread Ahead, Butchies and Club Mexicana are among the 15 food and drink traders joining Market Place Food Hall Leicester Square.
Opening on 11 December, the five-storey food hall is located next to the Odeon cinema and marks Market Place’s biggest project to date.
The line-up includes Bread Ahead bakery, which is known for its signature crème brûlée doughnuts, cult fried chicken specialist Butchies and plant-based Mexican purveyor Club Mexicana.
The food hall will also welcome Cheeky Burger from a husband and wife team with classical French training, and Strip Steak from an ex-Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Group chef.
Inamo Sukoshi, Yorkshire Burritos, Duck Shed, Hide and Greek, Hot Scotch, Molo, Mister Lasagna, Soft Serve Society, Thai House and Crumble Mania are also among those opening stalls next month.
Blake Henderson, managing director at Market Place Food Halls, said: “Leicester Square has always been at the heart of London’s excitement and energy, and now we’re bringing food and flavour into the mix too. We’ve brought together the very best food vendors from viral street food sensations to Michelin-trained chefs so everyone can find something that keeps them coming back for more.”
Market Place was founded in 2020 and has since grown to venues across Vauxhall, Harrow, Peckham and most recently St Paul’s, which also features London’s first outpost of Aussie-style sushi brand Rolled.
Henderson previously told The Caterer of his ambitions for Market Place to be the “fastest growing food hall in the country”.
Other major food hall openings that took place this year included Kerb’s Corner Corner in Canada Water, Boxhall City in London’s Liverpool Street and Market Halls Paddington.
