The group is looking to fund the opening of a flagship Covent Garden restaurant
Restaurant group Six by Nico has raised over £1.2m from early access subscribers in its first crowdfunding campaign.
At the time of writing, some 2,784 investors have backed the business on Crowdcube in the first 18 hours of the page going live.
The crowdfund has initially only been available to those who have signed up for updates but it will go live to the general public soon.
Six by Nico was founded by chef Nico Simeone in 2017 and has grown into a group with 17 restaurants in 11 cities across the UK and Ireland serving themed tasting menus that change every six to 12 weeks.
It has not set a final target for its crowdfund but said funds would be used to open a flagship restaurant in London’s Covent Garden in Q4 this year and reduce existing debt, “fuelling growth and strengthening our financial position”.
It is also building Six by You, a digital hub for investors to give them behind the scenes access to events and a “direct line” to Simeone and his team.
For a minimum investment of £360 investors receive a season pass for two guests for to try its tasting menus at four “unique dining experiences”.
The group said it had seen revenue grow from £28m in 2023 to £43m in 2025 (FY July-June), equivalent to 54% in two years.
The Crowdcube page reads: “We served over 685,000 customers in the last 12 months. In our longer established locations, up to 47% of our diners are repeat visitors which we believe is a powerful indicator of customer loyalty and long-term brand connection.”
Six by Nico’s current menu theme is the Alice in Wonderland-inspired Mad Hatter’s Experience, which offers dishes including a Roast Chicken Dinner Doughnut. Prices start from £25 a head for a four-course lunch outside of London, rising to £55 a head for a six-course menu in the capital.
The group also runs sister bar concept Somewhere by Nico in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Six by Nico previously said it was looking at expansion overseas off the back of strong sales.
