The restaurant group launched its first crowdfunding campaign in August
Restaurant group Six by Nico has closed its crowdfunding campaign having raised more than £2.5m from 5,200 backers.
The business launched the campaign last month to support the opening of a flagship restaurant in London’s Covent Garden in Q4 this year. Six by Nico’s early access subscribers raised more than £1.2m just days into the launch.
The restaurant chain said it would invest the public’s support into reduce existing debt and “fuelling growth”.
Six by Nico has historically been funded through cash generated from operations and term debt facilities.
To mark its first crowdfunding campaign, the chain also built Six by You, a digital hub for investors that offers exclusive access to events.
Six by Nico was founded by chef Nico Simeone in 2017 and has grown into a group with 17 restaurants in 11 cities across the UK and Ireland serving themed tasting menus that change every six to 12 weeks.
The group’s current menu theme is Space, which offers dishes such as zero-gravity oysters and solar flares. Prices start from £45 a head for a six-course menu outside of London, rising to £55 a head for a six-course menu in the capital.
The group also runs sister bar concept Somewhere by Nico in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Six by Nico previously said it was looking at expansion overseas off the back of strong sales.
