The former managing director at Unox UK takes over from Tracy Southwell
Scott Duncan, former managing director at Unox UK, has joined commercial catering equipment provider Hobart UK as managing director.
He takes over from Tracy Southwell, who became the manufacturer’s first female managing director in January 2023. She had joined the business in 2021 as sales and marketing director.
Prior to his four-year tenure at Unox, Duncan held senior roles at Carpigiani UK, Jestic Foodservice and Servequip.
The Caterer understands there is currently no confirmed replacement for the role at Unox.
Duncan also serves as a council member for the Foodservice Equipment Association (FEA) and is an ambassador for the Burnt Chef Project.
He said: “Hobart is an iconic brand with a proud heritage and strong reputation for quality and innovation. I am excited to be joining the business and look forward to building on the great success already achieved by the team. Together we will focus on driving growth, strengthening customer relationships and continuing to deliver on Hobart’s legacy of excellence.”
Silvio Koch, vice president and general manager at Hobart Service & Equipment Division – Europe, added: “We are delighted to welcome Scott to Hobart UK. His knowledge, experience, and reputation in the industry make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team. Exceptional leadership combined with ITW’s unique business model are the driving forces behind our strong market position. On behalf of everyone at Hobart, I would like to extend our best wishes for his success in this important new role.
“We would also like to thank Tracy Southwell, the outgoing managing director, for her contribution and leadership. During her time in the role, Tracy initiated an important period of transformation, strengthening the foundations of the business and driving progress in areas such as employee development, diversity and inclusion, and sustainability. Her energy and commitment have made a positive impact, and we wish her every success in the next chapter of her career.”
Hobart was founded in Troy, Ohio in 1897. The company received the patent for the first flight-type dishwasher in 1953 and has since become a market leader in commercial warewashing technology.
