Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett picks up two new awards
Angela Hartnett, chef-patron of Michelin-starred restaurant Murano who became the first female winner of Caterer's Chef Award Catey this summer, has picked up two more breakthrough accolades.
Hartnett, who also operates boutique hotel York & and Albany, picked up the Breakthrough of the Year Award at the Harpers Bazaar Women of the Year Awards, which was presented to her by food critic Jay Rayner.
Accepting her award, Hartnett said: ""I'm delighted and honoured to win this award and particularly to be in the company of such amazing women. It's been an extraordinary year and I am more thankful than ever for the amazing team around me."
The chef also picked up the top newcomer award from the Zagat restaurant survey, just over a week after Murano was named the Hardens Restaurant Guide's best new restaurant.
It's also been a triumphant week for former Gordon Ramsay Holdings' chef Marcus Wareing, who was named GQ Men of the Year Chef winner after the success of his independent venture, Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley.
