The Lygon Arms created the Burton-Taylor Affair in tribute to the vibrant eyes of the film star
This cocktail was created by Kyle Allen, bartender at the Lygon Arms, a historic hotel nestled in Broadway in the Cotswolds.
It’s a refreshing sweet and sour drink that aims to recreate the violet colour of Elizabeth Taylor’s eyes. Sipsmith’s gin, soft juniper berry notes and Parfait Amour vanilla liqueur are complemented by the earthy tones of butterfly pea tea, which is blue when brewed, but turns purple if lemon or lime juice is added.
Shake all the ingredients and double strain into a martini glass. Garnish with lemon peel.
