The 81-bedroom hotel was initially slated to open in late autumn 2023
Amsterdam-based Sircle Collection will finally launch its first UK hotel, Sir Devonshire Square, in London’s Shoreditch in September.
The 81-bedroom hotel was initially slated to open in late autumn 2023 but has faced delays.
The Caterer reported on plans to develop the hotel in November 2022 after the chief executive of Sircle Collection wrote to local residents at the Devonshire Square development close to London Liverpool Street Station.
At the time, the hotel was set to include a members’ club, yoga studio, gym, library, outdoor botanical garden and the Seven North restaurant, headed by chef Eyal Shani of Miznon.
Final details on the opening will be shared in the coming weeks, a spokesperson for Sir Devonshire Square said.
The opening will be the sixth venue in the boutique Sir Hotels brand, which has sites in Prague, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Berlin. Each of its hotels have unique features, such as a music room, study or rooftop restaurant.
Liran Wizman, founder of Sircle Collection, previously said: “It’s always been a dream of ours to open a property in London and offer something compelling and distinctive to the city, as well as introduce London to the Cover, our global members’ club.”
Sircle Collection was founded in 2011 and owns and manages three hotel brands: Sir Hotels, Max Brown Hotels and Park Centraal Hotels.
Sir Hotels was launched in 2013 and names each property after nearby streets or monuments, such as Sir Adam in Amsterdam and Sir Joan in Ibiza.
News of the launch comes after another Amsterdam-based aparthotel brand, the July, made its London debut in Victoria last month.
