He takes over from founder and managing director Amanda Kay, who announced her departure from the business last week
Daniel Cousin has been appointed operations director at Amplify Guest Services, taking over from founder and managing director Amanda Kay.
Kay announced her departure from the guest services business last week, three years after she founded the company.
She described her time at Amplify as the “most incredible chapter” of her career, and added “this is the hardest goodbye” in a post on LinkedIn.
Cousin will now lead Amplify in its next phase of growth in partnership with contract caterer Genuine Dining.
He joins from Savills, where he led the commercial front-of-house team.
Earlier in his career, Cousin worked with luxury fashion brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior.
He said: “Amplify represents something genuinely different in our sector — a culture rooted in care for both team and client, which naturally elevates the guest experience. I’m excited to partner with Genuine Dining to deliver a truly seamless and standout service.”
Chris Mitchell, chief executive of Genuine Dining, added: “We’ve really enjoyed working with Amanda over the past three years to build Amplify into an amazing business full of great people. We have many exciting plans for Amplify, and I’m thrilled to be working with Daniel to further elevate service delivery in line with Genuine’s ethos of having the best people.”
Amplify launched as a start-up within Genuine Dining Group in 2022, offering reception, reservation and workplace support for mostly business and industry clients.
A year into its launch, it had eight clients, including workspaces Havas, Grainhouse and Nexus Insurance, and posted annual revenues of £1.6m.
Genuine Dining was sold to BaxterStorey-owner Westbury Street Holdings (WSH) in September last year.
