The deal adds 18 sites to the Honi Poke portfolio taking it to 45 sites across the UK and Europe
Honi Poke has announced the acquisition of its rival Island Poke.
The deal adds 18 sites to the Honi Poke portfolio, taking it to 45 sites across the UK and Europe, with 33 sites in the UK.
Honi Poke intends to keep operating its new sites under the Island Poke brand and plans to have 50 sites within the next year.
Quick-service restaurant Honi Poke was founded in 2017 after jumping on the trend of Hawaiian-influenced poke bowls being sold across the US.
Richard de la Cruz, formerly of Coya London and Arros QD, has been behind its sustainability-focused menu development, with the brand serving Scottish salmon and line-caught Yellonfin tuna in compostable, plant-based packaging.
Volodymyr Martynov, founder of Honi Poke said: “This is a landmark moment for Honi Poke. Island Poke has played a huge role in popularising poke across the UK and Europe, and we’re incredibly proud to bring our two brands together.
“Honi Poke has experienced phenomenal growth over the past few years, opening nine new sites last year alone, and with this acquisition we’re projecting annualised revenue of over £20m in the UK alone. Our ambition is clear: to reach 50 sites within the next year.”
