It will be Nick Jones’ first independent hotel project since stepping down as chief executive of the members’ club in 2022
Nick Jones is to open the St Clement hotel within the 180 Quarter development in London’s Temple in 2026.
It will be the Soho House founder’s first independent hotel project since stepping down as chief executive of the global members’ club business in 2022.
Earlier this year, he also launched deli, café and pantry Corner Shop at 180 The Thames (pictured).
In a statement to The Caterer, a spokesperson for St Clement hotel said: “St Clement hotel will be a 90-room property opening in 2026, including 15 apartments for long-term stays. This is Nick Jones’ first independent hotel project since stepping down as CEO of Soho House three years ago. We’ll be sharing more details about St Clement hotel as the project develops.”
The hotel will fall under the wider 180 Quarter development, which is being led by Mark Wadhwa and Tim Robinson from the Vinyl Factory, with creative direction by Alex Eagle.
The 180 Quarter includes 180 The Strand, which is home to Soho House’s two-floor 180 House members’ club, and 180 The Thames River Lofts and Apartments – all 140 units of which will be fully serviced by the St Clement hotel.
The development also houses the 180 Studios cultural centre, Mediterranean restaurant Toklas, two-Michelin-starred Ikoyi, Jones’ Corner Shop and chef Matteo Zielonka’s pasta kitchen.
Reports have suggested the St Clement hotel will be operated under Jones’s new company, Jones & Co (Hotels, Restaurant and Residences).
Jones founded Soho House in London in 1995 to act as a hub for people working in the creative industries.
Soho House now has over 211,000 global members and runs more than 40 clubs and several associated hospitality brands worldwide, including the Ned in London and New York.
In August, it was sold to a group of investors including MCR Hotels and actor Ashton Kutcher in a deal worth around $2.7b (£2b).
