The 167-bedroom London property will be the first from new lifestyle hotel brand, the Webster
New design-forward lifestyle hotel brand, the Webster, has announced plans to launch the Webster Covent Garden in London this July.
Opening on Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the 167-bedroom property will have a starting room rate of £350 and feature a library paying homage to its literary heritage, an Italian-inspired restaurant and speakeasy, Carmelina’s, as well as a late-night Italo-Disco bar, Carla’s List.
While its London property pays homage to writer Charles Dickens, who was briefly a law clerk at the nearby Gray’s Inn, the group’s upcoming American property, the Webster Times Square, New York, takes its name from the historic Webster hotel, where Nobel Prize–winning Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez stayed with his family in 1961.
The Webster Covent Garden has been designed by London-based studio Red Deer.
Each of the rooms include Marshall speakers, Jacob Jensen phones, a selection of books and mid-century touches, while the hotel’s public spaces feature terrazzo flooring and contemporary furniture.
Joseph Turano, chief operating officer at the Webster, said: “We’re thrilled to introduce the Webster to travellers in both London and New York City. Our goal is to create spaces that invite curiosity, spark conversation, and cultivate a true sense of belonging — whether that means lingering over a great meal, discovering a new book, or connecting with strangers who quickly become friends.”
The Webster Covent Garden is one of several London-based, literary-themed boutique hotel openings this year, including the Newman in Fitzrovia and the relaunched Kensington Hideaway.
