Coffee equipment specialist Barista Tech has launched what it believes is the market’s first grind-by-weight coffee bean grinder. While conventional grinders grind by timer or by volume, which can depend on the condition of the beans or the size of the grind, grinding by weight delivers exactly the grams set. The E65S GbW grinders are manufactured by Mahlkonig and deliver 5g of ground coffee per second.

FEM (Foodservice Equipment Marketing) has launched the Pratica Fit ST stackable high-speed oven. The single magnetron Fit ST oven runs from a standard 13A plug and can be placed anywhere thanks to its ventless design, with no extraction hood required. Its compact size of 70cm depth means it can fit on a counter top and two ovens can be stacked on top of each other. The double magnetron version (6.8kW) offers faster cooking and greater menu versatility. Both ovens combine impinged air convection and microwave technology to cook, brown and toast at temperatures between 30°C and 280°C.

Evoca Group has introduced the Gaggia G100 coffee machine, which has an average daily output of 100 cups. There are two versions: the G100 Powdered Milk model – formerly known as Kometa – and the G100 Fresh Milk – which replaces La Brillante. Both are equipped with precision grinders and a self-adjusting system that ensures consistent quality across a menu of beverages. The machines are just 31cm wide and come with a 7in touchscreen, an automatic milk cleaning system and a coffee waste bucket that is simple to remove.
