Hina Simpson appointed as new GM of Radisson Blu Birmingham
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Hina Simpson as new general manager of the Radisson Blu hotel, Birmingham.
It is the first general manager role for Simpson, who is also an Acorn Award 2013 winner.
Having started her career aged 20 as a receptionist at the Radisson SAS Edinburgh, Simpson then joined Macdonald Hotels as a sales executive, before being promoted to cluster sales and marketing manager for two of the company's flagship properties.
She re-joined Radisson in 2008 as part of its people development programme, and since then has worked as director of meetings and events sales, and food and beverage manager, at the Radisson Blu Edinburgh.
She then worked as operations manager at the Radisson Blu Glasgow before returning to the Edinburgh property as action general manager. She moved to the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel as director of operations in June 2013. Her eventual aim was to achieve a general manager position.
Malcolm Rann, regional director of Radisson Blu UK, said: "It's a real pleasure to give Simpson her first hotel as general manager. She really is "yes I can" through and through, and her natural talent and determination shines through. I'm confident that in Simpson's hands the Radisson Hotel, Birmingham will go from strength to strength."
Part of the Carlson Rezidor group of hotels, Radisson Blu operates 27 properties across the UK. Its parent company's portfolio covers more than 1,350 hotels across 105 countries, and also includes the brands Radisson, Radisson Red, Park Plaza, and the Park Inn by Radisson.
